Educators implementing the African American/Black and Puerto Rican/Latino Course of Studies (SCED Course Code 04901) in the 2024-2025 school year are invited to learn and network during in-person and virtual events this July!

AFRICAN AMERICAN/BLACK & PUERTO RICAN/LATINO COURSE OF STUDIES SUMMER INSTITUTE

July 15-19, 2024

A combination of virtual and in-person sessions for high school educators, including curriculum and department coordinators who will be implementing the course next year.

Designed to support educators implementing the African American/Black and Puerto Rican/Latino Course of Studies (SCED Course Code 04901) in the 2024-2025 school year, participants will:

• Acquire in-depth knowledge of course framework, curriculum design, and pedagogy;
• Identify and calibrate essential concepts and skills of each unit; develop content knowledge from local and international experts, historians, and curriculum developers;
• Learn from experiences of initial implementers, and;
• Network with other educators across the state to create engaging and meaningful lessons.

No cost to districts with the exception of release time/substitute coverage needed.
