Becoming a PD Specialist
Atlas Training Center is pleased to host MacKenzie Pelland from the Council for Professional Recognition on Thursday, May 16th from 1:00-2:00 via Zoom.
The purpose of this session is to explain the role of the Professional Development Specialist in supporting CDA Candidates participating in the CDA Verification Visit. She will explain the training process and answer any questions that you may have.
Atlas Training Center is pleased to have signed an agreement with the council to support the recruitment of Professional Development Specialists within Connecticut. Our goal is to support communities in CT by having a pool of qualified specialists available so that candidates for CDA never need to wait more than a few weeks to have their visit.
Who is a good candidate for becoming a PD Specialist?
- Classroom head teachers who are interested in supporting new teachers in earning the CDA.
- Administrators with at least an associate degree.
- Understanding of developmentally appropriate practices.
- Please note that experience with the CDA Credential is not required for this opportunity.
